Cookie policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy explains what this website stores on your device, why, and how to change your mind. In short: we only use analytics cookies if you say yes, we never use cookies for advertising, and the website works the same whatever you choose.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Browsers can also keep small notes for a website in "local storage" or "session storage", which work in a similar way. The law treats them all alike, so this policy covers both.
What we use
| Name | What it's for | Type | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| jsa-analytics | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don't ask on every page. | Essential (local storage) | Until you clear your browser's data |
| jsa-touch | Notes how your visit began: the first page you saw, the website that sent you, any campaign tags in the link, and whether you came from one of our adverts. If you send us an enquiry, this goes with it so we know which of our marketing works. It holds nothing that identifies you. | Essential (session storage) | Until you close the browser tab |
| jsa-chat | Keeps your conversation with our AI assistant, so it carries on from page to page and after a reload. Only set once you use the chat. | Essential (local storage) | Until you start a new chat or clear your browser's data |
| jsa-chat-open, jsa-chat-nudged | Remember whether the chat window is open, and that we've already pointed it out to you on this visit. | Essential (session storage) | Until you close the browser tab |
| _ga | Google Analytics: tells one visitor apart from another, so we can count visitors rather than page views. | Analytics, only if you accept (cookie) | 2 years |
| _ga_4BBM3EV034 | Google Analytics: keeps track of your current visit. | Analytics, only if you accept (cookie) | 2 years |
Google Analytics
If you click Accept, we use Google Analytics to see how people use the website: which pages they visit, how they found us, the device and rough location (town or city), and whether they send an enquiry or tap our phone number or email address. Google gives us totals, not names, and we've set it up not to use the information for advertising.
Our Google Analytics account is linked to our Google Ads account, so we can see whether people who click our adverts go on to contact us. Personalised advertising is switched off.
If you click No thanks, or don't answer, Google Analytics doesn't load at all and no analytics cookies are set. You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
What we count without cookies
Whatever you choose, our website counts each page view with the page's address and the website that linked to it. This uses no cookies and stores nothing about you or your device, so it can't be used to recognise you.
Other services on our pages
Some pages show content from Google, which may set its own cookies or see your device's IP address when it loads:
- Google Maps on our office pages, to show where we are.
- Google Fonts, for the lettering on every page (no cookies).
- Reviewers' profile pictures on our Google reviews.
Links to our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and X) only take you to those sites when you click them. Those sites' own policies apply there.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings here or at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings; the website will still work.
